The Lord is a Warrior!

Today I was looking at how God saved Israel from the Egyptians. Exodus 14 and 15 gives the account of this event. Exodus 14:6 “So he had his chariot made ready and took his army with him. He took six hundred of the best chariots, along with all the other chariots of Egypt, with officers over all of them. The Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, so that he pursued the Israelites, who were marching out boldly. The Egyptians—all Pharaoh’s horses and chariots, horsemen and troops —pursued the Israelites and overtook them as they camped by the sea near Pi Hahiroth, opposite Baal Zephon.” The Israelites cried out and “13 Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. 14 The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” The Egyptians realized the Lord was fighting for the Israelites but it was too late. The Lord then destroyed the Egyptian army, not one of them survived.
At the Rock we are calling on God to send revival to us and then to our community. My personal belief is most Christians have no idea what it means to be a Christian living in the power that Jesus said we would have in the Holy Spirit. Most are still living in fear of the enemy. Since we are calling on God for revival, the enemy is going to increase the attack against us but this is when we need to stand firm and let our warrior God deliverer us. This means we need to turn to Him not to the world for deliverance. We need to wait and stand firm in faith that God will deliver us. We need to sing with Moses “I will sing to the Lord, for He is highly exalted. Both horse and driver He has hurled into the sea.2 “The Lord is my strength and my defence; He has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise Him, my father’s God, and I will exalt Him. 3 The Lord is a warrior; the Lord is His name.” Even before God defeats the enemy, based on the word of God we need to stand firm on the promises of His word and believe together that God will do as He says and bring deliverance from our enemies. We need to do as the Israelites did and put our trust in the Lord. “That day the Lord saved Israel from the hands of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians lying dead on the shore. 31 And when the Israelites saw the mighty hand of the Lord displayed against the Egyptians, the people feared the Lord and put their trust in him and in Moses his servant.” Because of this deliverance we too know we can be delivered also. If the attack has increased and you fell surrounded; fear not - the Lord is a warrior: Jesus is His name and He will deliver you, just call on His powerful name.
