As we journey on this radical road to the cross, we look to the word of God for guidance and strength. David said in Psalm 56, “In God, whose word I praise, in the Lord, whose word I praise— 11 in God I trust and am not afraid. What can man do to me?” As we have been looking at the indescribable creation we must take hold of the scriptures and believe. Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God….” When you start here you live by truth and living by truth leads you on straight paths to eternal life with our Saviour. Along this journey satan will try to cut you off as Paul said in Galatians 5:7 “You were running a good race. Who cut in on you to keep you from obeying the truth? 8 That kind of persuasion does not come from the one who calls you. 9 “A little yeast works through the whole batch of dough.” Scripture makes it very clear to us that there will be those who will try to lead you astray. Proverbs 1-9 tells us of two paths; one to life and the other to death. As we look at creation, you need to know that the evil one is trying to cut you off. If He can get you to doubt in verse one of God’s word, the rest will be a piece of cake. The big one is the absolute refusal to believe God’s word when He said let there be … and there was instantly. Why is it so hard for Christian people to live by God’s word? We must be so careful because in these last times many will fall away because it is not in God’s word they praise. 2 Peter 2:1 “But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves.” This is the church of today. These teachers and prophets are already here. Many destructive heresies have already been introduced to the church. Jude says for, “these people slander whatever they do not understand, and the very things they do understand by instinct—as irrational animals do—will destroy them. 12 These people are blemishes at your love feasts, eating with you without the slightest qualm—shepherds who feed only themselves. They are clouds without rain, blown along by the wind; autumn trees, without fruit and uprooted—twice dead. 13 They are wild waves of the sea, foaming up their shame; wandering stars, for whom blackest darkness has been reserved forever. “In the last times there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly desires.” 19 These are the people who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit.” This is the problem, these false teachers have already invaded the church and many are listening. The good news is, just as a way was given to Adam and Eve for not obeying, there will be grace given to us, but we must repent for our lack of belief. So today if you call yourself a Christian, stop listening to the worldview of creation and start believing “In the beginning God…” The bible did not leave anything out. Lord help our unbelief.
