     Sermon: In Accordance to Truth
Lately we have had much happening in the world we live in. Yes one could call it chaos but the wonders of our God will always prevail. We spent a couple of Sundays talking about our Awesome God, creator of the universe. Malachi 1:14 “For I am a great king,” says the Lord Almighty, “and my name is to be feared among the nations.” Everyday we have the opportunity to see God’s handiwork and power. The moon in the night and in the morning the other day was amazing. The clouds in the sky that light up in the sunset and of course the total eclipse along with all of creation makes us give praise to our creator. Not only do we stand in awe of his creation, we are in awe of its power as we have seen in hurricanes and tornadoes, tsunamis, lighting storms, floods etc. When confronted with God’s creation our reaction should be like Jobs when God grilled him. Job said, Job 40:4 “I am unworthy—how can I reply to you? I put my hand over my mouth. 5 I spoke once, but I have no answer—twice, but I will say no more.” God continues and then Job replies. Job 42:1 “Then Job replied to the Lord: 2 “I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted. 3 You asked, ‘Who is this that obscures my plans without knowledge?’ Surely I spoke of things I did not understand, things too wonderful for me to know. 4 “You said, ‘Listen now, and I will speak; I will question you, and you shall answer me.’ 5 My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you. 6 Therefore I despise myself and repent in dust and ashes.”
This should be our response also because Colossians 1:15 says, “The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. 19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. 21 Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. 22 But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation— 23 if you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant.”
Not only does this verse talk of the creator but also the one who brings us salvation. This is the gospel Paul refers to, of which we too are to become servants. But here is the problem; we have not adhered to the gospel of Jesus Christ as Paul proclaimed. We have turned to other gospels and have been deceived. This has happened to most and they do not even know it but are without excuse. Josiah said 2 Kings 22:13 “Go and inquire of the Lord for me and for the people and for all Judah about what is written in this book that has been found. Great is the Lord’s anger that burns against us because those who have gone before us have not obeyed the words of this book; they have not acted in accordance with all that is written there concerning us.” This is why the book of acts is so foreign to the church as we have not acted in accordance with the word of God therefore the so called church today looks nothing like the early church. Later Josiah turns back to God with everything he had. 2 Kings 23:25 “Neither before nor after Josiah was there a king like him who turned to the Lord as he did—with all his heart and with all his soul and with all his strength, in accordance with all the Law of Moses.” We must do the same. Elijah said in 1 Kings 18:36 “At the time of sacrifice, the prophet Elijah stepped forward and prayed: “Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, let it be known today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and have done all these things at your command. 37 Answer me, Lord, answer me, so these people will know that you, Lord, are God, and that you are turning their hearts back again.” 38 Then the fire of the Lord fell and burned up the sacrifice, the wood, the stones and the soil, and also licked up the water in the trench. 39 When all the people saw this, they fell prostrate and cried, “The Lord—he is God! The Lord—he is God!” Now jump ahead to the Thessalonians of whom Paul said, 1 Thessalonians 1:6 “You became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you welcomed the message in the midst of severe suffering with the joy given by the Holy Spirit.
1 Thessalonians 2:13 “And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe.”
So you would think that to call ourselves Christians, we too would carry on receiving the gospel as the word of God and then living in accordance with it. But that is just not the case. As we saw with Elijah the people could not even answer his question. 1 Kings 18:21 “How long will you waver between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him; but if Baal is God, follow him.” It was a mess with the people following false prophets and teachers just as it is now. Jeremiah 14:14 “Then the Lord said to me, “The prophets are prophesying lies in my name. I have not sent them or appointed them or spoken to them. They are prophesying to you false visions, divinations, idolatries and the delusions of their own minds.” Matthew 7:15 “Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.”
We have been warned over and over again. Watch out! Do not be deceived. Luke 21:7 “Teacher,” they asked, “when will these things happen? And what will be the sign that they are about to take place?” 8 He replied: “Watch out that you are not deceived. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am he,’ and, ‘The time is near.’ Do not follow them. 9 When you hear of wars and uprisings, do not be frightened. These things must happen first, but the end will not come right away.” 10 Then he said to them: “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. 11 There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.” Matthew 24:10 “At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. 22 “If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened. 23 At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. 24 For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you ahead of time.”
Right now in history the rapturists are in full steam ahead mode. Oddly this false teaching is a new god. Deuteronomy 32:15 “Jeshurun grew fat and kicked; filled with food, they became heavy and sleek. They abandoned the God who made them and rejected the Rock their Savior. 16 They made him jealous with their foreign gods and angered him with their detestable idols. 17 They sacrificed to false gods, which are not God— gods they had not known, gods that recently appeared, gods your ancestors did not fear. 18 You deserted the Rock, who fathered you; you forgot the God who gave you birth. 19 The Lord saw this and rejected them because he was angered by his sons and daughters. 20 “I will hide my face from them,” he said, “and see what their end will be; for they are a perverse generation, children who are unfaithful.” Sounds like North America. We have already been warned that God will hide His face from us, therefore we are powerless. As we read earlier Jeremiah also warned us, Jeremiah 23:16 “This is what the Lord Almighty says: “Do not listen to what the prophets are prophesying to you; they fill you with false hopes. They speak visions from their own minds, not from the mouth of the Lord.” Right now those who teach the rapture and all that goes with it, the tribulation and millennial kingdom are filling their people and all those who listen with lies and false hope. They say the signs all lead to the rapture very shortly. We have had blood moons that have come to not. There was supposed to be a cataclysmic worldwide event but that did not happen. We just had a total eclipse of the sun stretching across the United States and then there is going to be another one in 2024, which they say marks an X with the one that just happened. ARRR X marks the spot. So now God is pirate. But if you look at all the eclipses together on a globe you will see lines all over the place. They just picked two (SHOW PICTURE)
So as each event passes they change and add another sign to their list of signs. The next one is in a few days September 21, 2017 the possible rapture and start of the tribulation. Now people are being careful saying I am not naming a date but I will be surprised if something does not happen. If God is into signs and I know he is then this is the time, but I’m not saying this is the time. So at that time you have the Revelation 12 sign, supposedly the beginning of the tribulation period. “Many people worldwide believe that an astronomical alignment involving the constellations Virgo and Leo, the sun, moon, and planets Mercury, Mars, Venus, and Jupiter occurring in September 23, 2017 will fulfill this prophecy word-for-word. Be careful this sounds a lot like “The Harmonic Convergence is the name given to one of the world's first globally synchronized meditation events, which occurred on August 16–17, 1987. This event also closely coincided with an exceptional alignment of planets in the Solar System.” The New Age loves the word alignment. It is also connected to Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. Rabbis have predicted the coming Mashiach the Messiah. The bible code is the key to understanding the bible. I thought it was the Holy Spirit? So we have Christians following rabbits down a rabbit hole sorry that should say rabbi who do not believe the Messiah already came. What???? Then we have the Jewish calendar date 2017 - 5777. There is a lot of numerology and decoding taking place. Yes some will call it gematria (assigns numerical value to a word/ name/ phrase in the belief that words or phrases with identical numerical values bear some relation to each other or bear some relation to the number itself as it may apply to Nature, a person's age, the calendar year, or the like.) This they say is used to help support biblical exegesis and without it you cannot know. One person says you must know this like the rabbis to understand. Again I stress they missed the Messiah who stood in front of them and then killed him. Anyways the 5 means grace and the 7 means perfection and the triple 7’s completion. And this is the year 5777. So there are all these prophecies that are going to be debunked shortly if triple 777s mean completion. It’s kind of hard to have 5778 if 5777 means completion. Since Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish New Year, on September 21, 2017 the calendar flips over to 5778 and prophecies are debunked but no they just keep adding others to them. So you have a big hurricane and see I told you. Yes it is going to get worse. 5 Jesus said to them: “Watch out that no one deceives you. 6 Many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am he,’ and will deceive many. 7 When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 8 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines. These are the beginning of birth pains.12 “Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child. Children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death. 13 Everyone will hate you because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.”
Here is the problem the rapture is a lie. It’s total nonsense. It’s nonsensical which means having no intelligible meaning, incongruous; inviting ridicule because it is simply not scriptural. Millions of people have been deceived and led astray because of this teaching. The greatest event is coming, the return of Jesus, the end of this world, the Day of Judgment eternal life and people are either deceived or they don’t want to talk about it. When it comes to the rapture, if people do talk they will realize wait a minute how can this be God’s truth. Let me give you an example of a church congregation listening to preaching about the rapture.
SHOW VIDEO Charlie Brown – Sorry I couldn't help it. Good ole Charlie Brown
People need to be informed before it is too late. These lies will not set you free and give you peace. For example you have the Pentecostals and Baptists (there are many views in these groups) The Pentecostals believe in the gifts and the spirit and most Baptist don’t going as far as saying they have ceased. For example the PAOC church says this; 5.8.2 “The rapture, the blessed hope of the church, is the imminent coming of the Lord in the air to receive to Himself His own, both the living who shall be transformed, and the dead in Christ who shall be resurrected. 62 This event takes place before the wrath of God is poured out during the tribulation. Believers then will appear before the judgment seat of Christ to be judged according to faithfulness in Christian service.” One Baptist church said, “We believe that, according to the Word of God, the next great event in the fulfillment of prophecy will be the coming of Christ in the air to receive to Himself into heaven both His own who are alive and remain unto His coming, and also all who have fallen asleep in Jesus.” Oddly in both Pentecostals and Baptists there is a wide variance of belief. Does that really sound like the gospel of Jesus Christ. I believe in the Rapture - I don’t I am pre mill, post trib; etc. One thing most agree on is they don’t agree. So where is the Holy Spirit in all this, the spirit of truth? John 16:13 “But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.” This was just two groups of the church and the chaos that surrounds just scratches the surface of all the denomination. Since there is so much confusion again we know God has turned his face from shining on us. God said he would hide his face us. So since we don’t have truth, we go back to being in accordance with God’s word not man’s.
The rapture, the tribulation and the millennium are false teachings and doctrines by false teachers and prophets, the ones we were warned about. This deception is now and has been since Jesus. I had been telling you that there is teaching, telling people there is a great deception coming yet the one teaching is deceiving the masses. I heard a sermon the other day by Charles Lawson (this guy is wild –I will leave it at that)) who said the great deception is coming. No it has already come and he has been deceived and continues to deceive others. Matthew 24:24 “For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.” He even quotes the verse about the coming delusion. The delusion is not coming in the tribulation. They have already deceived.” How weird is that? He is leading his congregation away from the truth. This is some scary teaching. What a shock he is going to have when he meets the truth! Jesus is not coming back to take his followers away from this earth as described by the Rapturists. Doesn’t that make you furious when people talk about the rapture? Barbuda island destroyed, famine in countries, war decimating countries like Syria, stories from North Korea, China just to name a few yet some wealthy Americans, Canada included, believe they don’t have to go through anything, meanwhile tribulation has already struck and deception has let the church desolate. When we read about the Thessalonians Paul said 1 Thessalonians 2:14 “You suffered from your own people the same things those churches suffered from the Jews 15 who killed the Lord Jesus and the prophets and also drove us out.” Matthew 24:9 “Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me.” Luke 21:12 “But before all this, they will seize you and persecute you. They will hand you over to synagogues and put you in prison, and you will be brought before kings and governors, and all on account of my name. 13 And so you will bear testimony to me. 14 But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves. 15 For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict. 16 You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers and sisters, relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death. 17 Everyone will hate you because of me. 18 But not a hair of your head will perish. 19 Stand firm, and you will win life.” John 15:20 Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also.” I am pretty sure death is the pinnacle of persecution since that is what Jesus went through. So the church our example has to go through it but the narcissism of the North America thinks we are beyond that. They will not be raptured but ruptured which can also mean shattered. The deception has struck and most don’t even know it. They sit there praising a God who is not listening to them. They are not going to be prepared for what comes next as North America falls away from the truth. It is getting worse by the day. How many will turn away when they find out they are being persecuted beyond anything they ever imagined all because they were not prepared. 1 Peter 4:12 “Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. 13 But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed. 14 If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. 15 If you suffer, it should not be as a murderer or thief or any other kind of criminal, or even as a meddler. 16 However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name. I read this letter a while ago in our ladies study. Ruth Graham wrote “I was talking recently with an elderly missionary from China who told me that her greatest regrets now are not having prepared the Chinese Christians for the tribulation they would undergo. She said in her years in China she went everywhere teaching the pre-tribulation rapture and getting Christians to believe that they would not have to suffer for the Lord in that sense.” This teaching is deadly also because it rejects God’s word. The peace Jesus is talking comes when we believe not during the Millennium; you don’t have to wait. Just listen Philippians. Philippians 1:2 “Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.” Philippians 4:7 “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:9 “Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.” The Jews did not believe Jesus was the Messiah because he did not fulfill the requirements because there was no world peace. And now the gentiles think that peace will come during the thousand-year reign, which is nonsense as peace on earth is here now as we believe in Jesus. Unfortunately most base their beliefs on man made doctrines instead of the word of God. You have pre post ah millennial, pre mid post and a bunch of other rapture ideas. We do not formulate our belief on doctrine of men but on sound doctrine of the word of God. You don’t build your foundation on human doctrine or even demonic doctrine most just don’t know where it comes from. 2 Timothy 4:3 “For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.” We on the other hand are to 2 Timothy 2:15 “Do our best to present ourselves to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.
What we need is a truth revival. We will not meet him in the air as described by the rapturists. Honestly I think I am upset about all this as I spent a good part of my younger life fearing the rapture because of some demonic movie I saw shown in the church as if it were the truth. This movie was made a year before the exorcist in the same horror genre.  He will not reign on a throne for thousand years. Why. Because he already came and set up His church the way it is supposed to be. He reigns in his kingdom. It is here. We are supposed to have power but since we have decided to go our own way, the church no longer has power to defeat out enemies. Instead of repenting people just say, Oh well we can fix that; lets just say he doesn’t do that any more. The man made and demonic doctrines created have nullified the word of God, so we have ended up with a form of godliness but deny its power. Have nothing to do with them. Acts 2:20 “The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord. 21 And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. We’ve lost the great and coming appearance of the Lord. These men and women keep quoting Joel yet they missed it when Peter said in Acts 1:15 “These people are not drunk, as you suppose. It’s only nine in the morning! 16 No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel.” Stop looking to the stars for it and get your eyes back on scripture. We are supposed to have power. Jesus came to destroy satan but because we have denied his power and followed other gospels we have no power to carry out what Jesus started. 1 John 3:8 “The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.” He said to Paul, Acts 26:17 “I will rescue you from your own people and from the Gentiles. I am sending you to them 18 to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.” The church lies powerless to carry this on. It seems more important to pursue doctrines than it is to pursue God. Since we do not have power we can only say that God has turned his face from shining on us. Why?
The answer is simple. We have men and women preaching false doctrines. Jeremiah 5:31 “The prophets prophesy lies, the priests rule by their own authority, and my people love it this way. But what will you do in the end?” I just gave you an example about Lawson and we have already talked about John Hagee who keeps up his ranting with his charts. Yes he can fire up people but he is still a false prophet. You can see that on a video August 9, 2017 “The final Farewell.” He said, “The most exciting event the world has ever seen is about to happen. It is called the rapture. In the name of Jesus they prayed but we already know he is a false prophet from the blood moons yet he continues. He even talks about Elijah returning even though Jesus said John the Baptist was the Elijah to come. Matthew 11:14 “And if you are willing to accept it, he is the Elijah who was to come. 15 Whoever has ears, let them hear.” Now it isn’t just men, it is also woman. Here is one with a big last name but still false. There are two blogs by Anne Lotz Graham, one from 2015 and one from 2017; both talking about the rapture. She said in 2015,”It was my privilege to give the first two messages that covered Joel 1:1 through Joel 2:17. The impact on me was profound. Both times, when I stepped off of the platform, I knew God had spoken. The messages almost made the hair stand up on the back of my neck. Why? Because God was clearly warning that His judgment is coming on America and on our world, and it’s going to be ugly. I knew it then, and I know it now. I believe Jesus is soon to return to take all of His followers to Heaven with Him in what is referred to as The Rapture. While this will be deliverance for His people, can you imagine the impact on our nation, let alone the world, when suddenly every single authentic Christian disappears? Institutions will collapse. Banks will close. The Stock Market will plunge. Planes will fall out of the sky. Cars will crash on the road. Government in America at every level will disintegrate. Families will be torn apart. In the unprecedented turmoil, our nation will be vulnerable for our enemies to seize the moment and attack us. There will be mass chaos, confusion, fear, grief, despair, anger, threats, danger… judgment. Then Captain Nickolas Cage comes on the radio of the plane and pleads; Mayday, we have an emergency. Yes that last line was from a movie as is her fictional description. John Hagee did the same thing as do most of them. You see this is what happens when we turn away from the word of God. Recently, August 7, 2107 she wrote “A few years ago I was teaching through the book of Joel when the ancient words of his prophecy came up off the page. I knew with hair-raising certainty that God’s severe judgment was coming on America! I have taught Joel several times since.  Each time has served to confirm with deep conviction that God is warning America of impending disaster and destruction. Then later she says, “ While no one can know for sure if judgment is coming on America, it does seem that God is signaling us about something. Time will tell what that something is. Regardless of whether or not the conjecture regarding America’s Eclipse is accurate, we know our nation and our world is in turmoil.” Wow that is said powerfully with hair rising certainty! She then says, “In light of Ezekiel 33:1-6 that commands a watchman to be faithful to warn others of the danger coming against the land, I feel compelled to issue the warning once again.” Trust me when I say she is not a watchman. Watchman are not blind to deception. They have already let the enemy through the gates. Jesus said, watch out you are not deceived. She then links you to Australian pastor Steve Cioccolanti. This guy is leading people astray with his divine codes and numerology. He basically says you can’t read the bible without them. He puts a lot of emphasis on rabbis yet they missed the Messiah right in front of them.”
So run away as fast as you can, as these people are false teachers. Millions have fallen for the deceptions of satan. The church lies in desolation. They distort the words of God. They invent ideas and make God’s word line up with them. Yes this eschatological talk of the rapture, tribulation and millennium is just one of the distortions and deceptions in the church today but a big one. When will they learn? The answer is they won’t. but what God does is this. Isaiah 44:2 “This is what the Lord says—your Redeemer, who formed you in the womb: I am the Lord, the Maker of all things, who stretches out the heavens, who spreads out the earth by myself, 25 who foils the signs of false prophets and makes fools of diviners, who overthrows the learning of the wise and turns it into nonsense.” Each time these events come and go people should abandon ship and turn from these false teachers but they don’t. 2 Kings 17:14 “But they would not listen and were as stiff-necked as their ancestors, who did not trust in the Lord their God. 40 They would not listen, however, but persisted in their former practices. 41 Even while these people were worshiping the Lord, they were serving their idols. To this day their children and grandchildren continue to do as their ancestors did.” Matthew 16:1 The Demand for a Sign “The Pharisees and Sadducees came to Jesus and tested him by asking him to show them a sign from heaven. 2 He replied, “When evening comes, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red,’ 3 and in the morning, ‘Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times. 4 A wicked and adulterous generation looks for a sign, but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah.” Jesus then left them and went away.” People continue to look for signs but disregard his word and refuse to repent as Nineveh did and humble themselves. If Jesus came back now we would have just a remnant go with Him and there would be no second chance as they teach. This is heresy.
God created an amazing universe yet people have refused to listen to his word just as when Jesus came. John 1: 11 “He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him.” Because of this massive deception taking place, and unbelief God has sent a delusion. That deception is already here. People actually believe what they teach and what they hear people teach. Lamentations 2:14 “The visions of your prophets were false and worthless; they did not expose your sin to ward off your captivity. The prophecies they gave you were false and misleading.” None of this nonsense is turning people away from their sin. When we look to the stars we see a promise. We should also fall on our faces not to worship them but to kneel before our God the creator. The people who are teaching the rapture, tribulation and millennium are leading people astray. This nonsense develops and then creates a flow of its own, no longer the river life but a tributary that leads to the lake of fire. So then everything they believe such as the rapture, the dispensation of the millennial kingdom has to be backed by scripture, so they cut and paste and try to make it say what they want. It takes buckets of glue. I think they have shares in Elmer’s. I have listened to a lot of videos this week and I can’t believe how they distort scripture to make it say what they what it to say. I say try because if you really listen to what they are saying it is preposterous, yes like Charlie Browns teacher. Yes they will teach powerfully but not with the authority of Christ. There words are not like fire,” declares the Lord, “nor are they like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces. Trust me when I say they teach powerfully but as Peter says,  2 Peter 2:1 [ False Teachers and Their Destruction ] “But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves.” These destructive heresies are not the word of God. Since they have not acted in accordance with God’s word he is angered by them. Nothing has changed since the kings. God will be angry when we do not follow his word.
Why because they have stopped adhering to the word of God. These new doctrines are passed down from one generation to the other and they gain momentum. Each tweaking them Mark 7:13 “Thus you nullify the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And you do many things like that.” You see most of the teaching is in addition to God’s word. This is not how it is to be. Mark 12:14 “They came to him and said, “Teacher, we know that you are a man of integrity. You aren’t swayed by others, because you pay no attention to who they are; but you teach the way of God in accordance with the truth.” Romans 8:5 “Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.” When Joshua was about to cross the Jordon he was told, Joshua 1:7 “Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. 8 Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” So we keep this book before us. When we do that we stay away from false teachers and preachers.
We have a choice. The first is to not walk in accordance with the word of God. Isaiah 65:2 “All day long I have held out my hands to an obstinate people, who walk in ways not good, pursuing their own imaginations— 3 a people who continually provoke me to my very face.” Or we can walk according to god’s word. 2 Chronicles 6:16 “Now, Lord, the God of Israel, keep for your servant David my father the promises you made to him when you said, ‘You shall never fail to have a successor to sit before me on the throne of Israel, if only your descendants are careful in all they do to walk before me according to my law, as you have done.” Psalm 119:1 “Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the Lord.” 2 Timothy 3:16 “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” We must walk in accordance with the word of God. 2 Chronicles 7:17 “As for you, if you walk before me faithfully as David your father did, and do all I command, and observe my decrees and laws, 18 I will establish your royal throne, as I covenanted with David your father when I said, ‘You shall never fail to have a successor to rule over Israel.’ 19 “But if you turn away and forsake the decrees and commands I have given you and go off to serve other gods and worship them, 20 then I will uproot Israel from my land, which I have given them, and will reject this temple I have consecrated for my Name. I will make it a byword and an object of ridicule among all peoples. 21 This temple will become a heap of rubble. All who pass by will be appalled and say, ‘Why has the Lord done such a thing to this land and to this temple?’ 22 People will answer, ‘Because they have forsaken the Lord, the God of their ancestors, who brought them out of Egypt, and have embraced other gods, worshiping and serving them—that is why he brought all this disaster on them.’”
Deuteronomy 30:16 “For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess.” Deuteronomy 11:22 “If you carefully observe all these commands I am giving you to follow—to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him and to hold fast to him— 23 then the Lord will drive out all these nations before you, and you will dispossess nations larger and stronger than you. 24 Every place where you set your foot will be yours: Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon, and from the Euphrates River to the Mediterranean Sea. 25 No one will be able to stand against you. The Lord your God, as he promised you, will put the terror and fear of you on the whole land, wherever you go.” We must get back to living in accordance with the word of God, the truth. Do not be deceived!
