One definition described Trumpism as “the policies and political ideas of the US president Donald Trump,” Another described what has happened with those ideas. “Donald Trump didn’t just disrupt American politics—he exposed deeper structural problems that won’t disappear when he leaves office.” Donald Trump is also influenced heavily by those around him and those who have come before him. They appeared to be prepared for someone like Donald Trump to come along. Trump has shown that the American experiment of democracy is a failed experiment and after 250 years its flaws have been laid bare. This experiment is defined as “the unique, foundational endeavor to establish a self-governing republic based on liberty, equality, and constitutional law, rather than rule by a monarch or aristocracy.” What they did not account for was to have someone as crooked and immoral as Donald Trump being voted into office, not just once but twice. He can be described as profoundly immoral, deceptive and dishonest, found liable for sexual abuse, cruel, lacks empathy, constantly degrading women and men, betrayer of norms / traditions, causer of division, pathological liar, narcissist and these are just a few descriptions. The founders also did not account for people gullible enough to vote this kind of person into office, even though who he was well documented before he was elected to be president. They also didn’t account for what would happen when a corrupt president surrounds himself with sycophants and a whole political party that basically lets him do whatever he wants. The founders also didn’t account for what would happen when those behind the scenes started exposing all the loopholes of the experiment. They said they did not want a king but gave tremendous power to just one man which has now backfired because Trump wants to be a king and.
Today we are talking about Trumpism, not from a political viewpoint but from a spiritual viewpoint, although the political part is the vehicle for this other gospel. This other gospel can be described as a mix of christian nationalism (christian nationalists believe the U.S. was founded as a Christian nation and that its government should actively promote Christian, specifically conservative, values.), christian zionism (a belief among some Christians that the modern State of Israel is a fulfillment of biblical prophecy and that Christians should actively support Jewish sovereignty in the Holy Land.), white nationalism (is an ideology that advocates for a national identity defined by white ethnicity, aiming to ensure the survival, dominance, and cultural supremacy of white people within historically white nations) and dominionism (is the belief that Christians are called by God to exercise dominion—or control—over every aspect of society, including government, culture, and law, to establish a nation governed by biblical principles). None of those are true. Therefore, Trumpism is filled with ignorance, deception and delusion and a profound lack of biblically sound doctrine. This movement was already well on its way before Trump got into politics, but once Trump was elected it was pushed to the forefront in the United States and then globally. It would then be said that Donald Trump was God’s servant who would make America great again and everything about Trump was then ignored. They say Trump has been anointed to fight evil in the land, yet they ignore the evil associated with Donald Trump. People from different societal positions, education, wealth have come together to worship Trump who is the face of this movement and now this movement has reached the highest echelons of power. Enemies are now friends and allies are now enemies. The effects of Trumpism has been felt around the world and continues to disrupt this world and almost every day there are new disruptions that have global repercussions.
Many Christians have been deceived and deluded by this and many just are not sure. Every day there are also more lies and everything that comes out of Donald Trump’s mouth must be fact-checked. That should startle Christians who worship him, but it doesn’t seem to and still Christians support Trump. It is interesting that some who voted for Trump are now bothered that he has lied but he has always lied. John 8:44 “You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” Trumpism appears to be about as anti-Christ as you can get. No, it is not coming from Russia or China but the United States from where opposition to the true gospel of Jesus Christ is coming from. Yet people continue to believe Donald Trump is God’s servant. Yes, God places who He wants in power, but the instillation of Trump should bring fear. Daniel 2:20 ““Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are his. 21 He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others. He is not just the face of the movement; he wants his face and name everywhere.” Donald Trump’s appointment doesn’t mean God has raised up Trump for good. The king of Babylon was also God’s servant. Jeremiah 25:9 “I will summon all the peoples of the north and my servant Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon,” declares the Lord, “and I will bring them against this land and its inhabitants and against all the surrounding nations. I will completely destroy them and make them an object of horror and scorn, and an everlasting ruin.” Millions of people have been deceived by this lie that Donald Trump is God’s servant and he is anointed to make America great again. Some have even gone so far as equating him with Jesus, and make him out to be a Messiah figure.
The amazing part in all of this is that it was those who call themselves Christians that were the driving force behind Trump winning the election. But now we are seeing even more clearly who Trump is. He has no desire to make America great again, but to make himself great and even more wealthy. satan is always arrogant and will tell you that he is present. In this case satan is screaming here I am!” “Donald Trump has been found guilty on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records related to hush-money payments to two women ahead of the 2016 election, becoming the first former U.S. president to be convicted of a crime.” And now the first to be elected president as a convicted felon. Before this there were the “charges of plotting to overturn the state's 2020 election results in an arrest that saw the first ever mugshot of a former US president.” His mugshot was taken of which he used to his own advantage. He called this "a travesty of justice." He then posted his mug shot and gained even more followers. Some said, “His mugshot is the best one. God bless you Donald Trump, and God Bless America.” “God Bless Donald J Trump, the BEST President EVER!!!! Let's Make America Great Again!!!” “A framed copy of the New York Post's cover featuring President Donald Trump's mug shot has been hung on a wall just outside the Oval Office.” The strange part of this is that now “Donald Trump's 2025 official presidential portrait features a serious,, stern expression—characterized by a head-down tilt, forward-staring gaze, and a tight-lipped scowl—that bears a strong resemblance to his August 2023 Fulton County, Georgia, booking photo.”
Donald Trump has always liked his name in lights but now he has even more power to do so and those around him are trying to make it happen. Presently Donald Trump is trying to hijack the 250 Anniversary and making it about him. That mug shot is going to be on passports but that is just the tip of the iceberg. His face is on government buildings, coins, took over the Kennedy Center, National Park passes, Institute of Peace, proposed library, airports, battleships, savings and investment accounts, prescriptions, desire to be on Mount Rushmore, his own ballroom at the Whitehouse, building an arch, apparel / memorabilia and there will probably be more.
Two that should make you cringe (aside from an AI image of himself as Jesus) even more than what was described above was when he started selling bibles and most recently, erecting a statue of himself at his National Doral Golf Club in Miami, Florida. This last one is why I am writing today as I could not help but think about King Nebuchadnezzar. Erecting monuments to yourself is as old as the ages. Even king Saul did this. 1 Samuel 15:12 “Early in the morning Samuel got up and went to meet Saul, but he was told, “Saul has gone to Carmel. There he has set up a monument in his own honor and has turned and gone on down to Gilgal.” 2 Samuel 18:18 “During his lifetime Absalom had taken a pillar and erected it in the King’s Valley as a monument to himself, for he thought, “I have no son to carry on the memory of my name.” He named the pillar after himself, and it is called Absalom’s Monument to this day.” You also had people like Joseph Stalin (It is estimated that at the time of his death there were 6000 statues to him), Saddam Hussein, Kim Il Sung. This one is interesting. Saparmurat Niyazov - “In 1999, he was declared President for Life by the Turkmen parliament. Around the same time, he adopted the title Turkmenbashy, meaning “Leader of the Turkmen.” Thus began one of the most outlandish personality cults of modern times. His portraits adorned nearly every public building, an enormous golden statue of himself rotated to face the sun, and towns, streets, and even a meteorite were named after him or members of his family. In 2001 Niyazov began massive reductions in the country’s health and education systems. He mandated the construction of lavish monuments and buildings in the capital, Ashgabat, creating a city of white marble and gold domes. Under his rule, the country invested heavily in grand architectural projects while much of the population remained impoverished.” He died of a heart attack. “Niyazov left behind a surreal legacy: a country plastered with his image, a national mythos built around his supposed wisdom, and a people who had been taught to revere him as both a father figure and a semi-divine prophet. He remains one of the strangest figures in post-Soviet history.” That sounds like someone Donald Trump aspires to be.
One of the amazing accounts in scripture is about king Nebuchadnezzar. As a reminder, God had used him to destroy Judah and other nations. First God used the Assyrians. Isaiah 10:5 “Woe to the Assyrian, the rod of my anger, in whose hand is the club of my wrath! 6 I send him against a godless nation, I dispatch him against a people who anger me, to seize loot and snatch plunder, and to trample them down like mud in the streets. 12 When the Lord has finished all his work against Mount Zion and Jerusalem, he will say, “I will punish the king of Assyria for the willful pride of his heart and the haughty look in his eyes.” Then Judah was destroyed. Jeremiah 50:17 “Israel is a scattered flock that lions have chased away. The first to devour them was the king of Assyria; the last to crush their bones was Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon.” 18 Therefore this is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: “I will punish the king of Babylon and his land as I punished the king of Assyria.” “See, I am against you, you arrogant one,” declares the Lord, the Lord Almighty, “for your day has come, the time for you to be punished. 32 The arrogant one will stumble and fall and no one will help her up; I will kindle a fire in her towns that will consume all who are around her.” Jeremiah 51:24 “Before your eyes I will repay Babylon and all who live in Babylonia for all the wrong they have done in Zion,” declares the Lord.”
Now we do not know for sure if the image was of king Nebuchadnezzar himself, but his arrogance suggests that it could have been. The image was set up and everyone was told, Daniel 3:5 “As soon as you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe and all kinds of music, you must fall down and worship the image of gold that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up. 6 Whoever does not fall down and worship will immediately be thrown into a blazing furnace.” The amazing part of this was the dreams the king was having and Daniel’s ability to interpret them. Daniel 1:17 “To these four young men God gave knowledge and understanding of all kinds of literature and learning. And Daniel could understand visions and dreams of all kinds.” Nebuchadnezzar would then have a dream that terrified him and he would end up humbling himself before God. Daniel 4:19 “Then Daniel (also called Belteshazzar) was greatly perplexed for a time, and his thoughts terrified him. So the king said, “Belteshazzar, do not let the dream or its meaning alarm you.” Belteshazzar answered, “My lord, if only the dream applied to your enemies and its meaning to your adversaries! 20 The tree you saw, which grew large and strong, with its top touching the sky, visible to the whole earth, 21 with beautiful leaves and abundant fruit, providing food for all, giving shelter to the wild animals, and having nesting places in its branches for the birds— 22 Your Majesty, you are that tree! You have become great and strong; your greatness has grown until it reaches the sky, and your dominion extends to distant parts of the earth. 24 “This is the interpretation, Your Majesty, and this is the decree the Most High has issued against my lord the king: 25 You will be driven away from people and will live with the wild animals; you will eat grass like the ox and be drenched with the dew of heaven. Seven times will pass by for you until you acknowledge that the Most High is sovereign over all kingdoms on earth and gives them to anyone he wishes. 26 The command to leave the stump of the tree with its roots means that your kingdom will be restored to you when you acknowledge that Heaven rules. 27 Therefore, Your Majesty, be pleased to accept my advice: Renounce your sins by doing what is right, and your wickedness by being kind to the oppressed. It may be that then your prosperity will continue.”
Even after this, Nebuchadnezzar continued in his arrogance. Daniel 4:28 “All this happened to King Nebuchadnezzar. 29 Twelve months later, as the king was walking on the roof of the royal palace of Babylon, 30 he said, “Is not this the great Babylon I have built as the royal residence, by my mighty power and for the glory of my majesty?” 31 Even as the words were on his lips, a voice came from heaven, “This is what is decreed for you, King Nebuchadnezzar: Your royal authority has been taken from you. 32 You will be driven away from people and will live with the wild animals; you will eat grass like the ox. Seven times will pass by for you until you acknowledge that the Most High is sovereign over all kingdoms on earth and gives them to anyone he wishes.” 33 Immediately what had been said about Nebuchadnezzar was fulfilled. He was driven away from people and ate grass like the ox. His body was drenched with the dew of heaven until his hair grew like the feathers of an eagle and his nails like the claws of a bird.” That is how fast a person’s life could change.
Manasseh, king of Judah also made an image and put it in the temple. 2 Chronicles 33:7 He took the image he had made and put it in God’s temple, of which God had said to David and to his son Solomon, “In this temple and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I will put my Name forever. 8 I will not again make the feet of the Israelites leave the land I assigned to your ancestors, if only they will be careful to do everything I commanded them concerning all the laws, decrees and regulations given through Moses.” 9 But Manasseh led Judah and the people of Jerusalem astray, so that they did more evil than the nations the Lord had destroyed before the Israelites. 10 The Lord spoke to Manasseh and his people, but they paid no attention. 11 So the Lord brought against them the army commanders of the king of Assyria, who took Manasseh prisoner, put a hook in his nose, bound him with bronze shackles and took him to Babylon. 12 In his distress he sought the favor of the Lord his God and humbled himself greatly before the God of his ancestors. 13 And when he prayed to him, the Lord was moved by his entreaty and listened to his plea; so he brought him back to Jerusalem and to his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the Lord is God.”
The desire to build with gold in your own image stems from an evil heart. After Israel came out of Egypt, Exodus 32:1 “When the people saw that Moses was so long in coming down from the mountain, they gathered around Aaron and said, “Come, make us gods who will go before us. As for this fellow Moses who brought us up out of Egypt, we don’t know what has happened to him.” 2 Aaron answered them, “Take off the gold earrings that your wives, your sons and your daughters are wearing, and bring them to me.” 3 So all the people took off their earrings and brought them to Aaron. 4 He took what they handed him and made it into an idol cast in the shape of a calf, fashioning it with a tool. Then they said, “These are your gods, Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt.” 5 When Aaron saw this, he built an altar in front of the calf and announced, “Tomorrow there will be a festival to the Lord.” 6 So the next day the people rose early and sacrificed burnt offerings and presented fellowship offerings. Afterward they sat down to eat and drink and got up to indulge in revelry. 7 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go down, because your people, whom you brought up out of Egypt, have become corrupt. 8 They have been quick to turn away from what I commanded them and have made themselves an idol cast in the shape of a calf. They have bowed down to it and sacrificed to it and have said, ‘These are your gods, Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt.’”
Then later after Solomon had disobeyed and lost most of his father’s kingdom, Jeroboam was given an amazing promise from God. 1 Kings 11:37 “As for you, I will take you, and you will rule over all that your heart desires; you will be king over Israel. 38 If you do whatever I command you and walk in obedience to me and do what is right in my eyes by obeying my decrees and commands, as David my servant did, I will be with you. I will build you a dynasty as enduring as the one I built for David and will give Israel to you. 39 I will humble David’s descendants because of this, but not forever.’” Even after receiving an amazing promise from God, He would also disobey. 1 Kings 12:26 “Jeroboam thought to himself, “The kingdom will now likely revert to the house of David. 27 If these people go up to offer sacrifices at the temple of the Lord in Jerusalem, they will again give their allegiance to their lord, Rehoboam king of Judah. They will kill me and return to King Rehoboam.” 28 After seeking advice, the king made two golden calves. He said to the people, “It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem. Here are your gods, Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt.” 29 One he set up in Bethel, and the other in Dan. 30 And this thing became a sin; the people came to worship the one at Bethel and went as far as Dan to worship the other.” Other kings would then be compared to the evil Jeroboam had done. 1 Kings 15:25 “Nadab son of Jeroboam became king of Israel in the second year of Asa king of Judah, and he reigned over Israel two years. 26 He did evil in the eyes of the Lord, following the ways of his father and committing the same sin his father had caused Israel to commit.” 1 Kings 16:25 “But Omri did evil in the eyes of the Lord and sinned more than all those before him. 26 He followed completely the ways of Jeroboam son of Nebat, committing the same sin Jeroboam had caused Israel to commit, so that they aroused the anger of the Lord, the God of Israel, by their worthless idols.”
Both Nebuchadnezzar and Manasseh would come to understand who God was because they humbled themselves before God and God was merciful them. Arrogant people cannot stand in God’s presence. 1 Peter 5:5 “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” 6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.” Isaiah 2:11 “The eyes of the arrogant will be humbled and human pride brought low; the Lord alone will be exalted in that day.” Proverbs 5:4 “For you are not a God who is pleased with wickedness; with you, evil people are not welcome. 5 The arrogant cannot stand in your presence. You hate all who do wrong; 6 you destroy those who tell lies. The bloodthirsty and deceitful you, Lord, detest.” Proverbs 8:13 “To fear the Lord is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech.” Proverbs 6:16 “There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him: 17 haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, 18 a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, 19 a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.” Proverbs 26:23 “Like a coating of silver dross on earthenware are fervent lips with an evil heart. 24 Enemies disguise themselves with their lips, but in their hearts they harbor deceit. 25 Though their speech is charming, do not believe them, for seven abominations fill their hearts. 26 Their malice may be concealed by deception, but their wickedness will be exposed in the assembly. 27 Whoever digs a pit will fall into it; if someone rolls a stone, it will roll back on them. 28 A lying tongue hates those it hurts, and a flattering mouth works ruin.”
Nineveh gives us a picture of who God is. Nahum 1:2 “The Lord is a jealous and avenging God; the Lord takes vengeance and is filled with wrath. The Lord takes vengeance on his foes and vents his wrath against his enemies. 3 The Lord is slow to anger but great in power; the Lord will not leave the guilty unpunished. 7 The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him, 8 but with an overwhelming flood he will make an end of Nineveh; he will pursue his foes into the realm of darkness.” So here we see total destruction. But we also see God’s compassion and this is not even Israel or Judah we are talking about. Jonah 4:11 “Should I not have concern for the great city of Nineveh, in which there are more than a hundred and twenty thousand people who cannot tell their right hand from their left—and also many animals?” Jonah was told again, Jonah 3:2 “Go to the great city of Nineveh and proclaim to it the message I give you.” 3 Jonah obeyed the word of the Lord and went to Nineveh. Now Nineveh was a very large city; it took three days to go through it. 4 Jonah began by going a day’s journey into the city, proclaiming, “Forty more days and Nineveh will be overthrown.” 5 The Ninevites believed God. A fast was proclaimed, and all of them, from the greatest to the least, put on sackcloth. 6 When Jonah’s warning reached the king of Nineveh, he rose from his throne, took off his royal robes, covered himself with sackcloth and sat down in the dust. 7 This is the proclamation he issued in Nineveh: “By the decree of the king and his nobles: Do not let people or animals, herds or flocks, taste anything; do not let them eat or drink. 8 But let people and animals be covered with sackcloth. Let everyone call urgently on God. Let them give up their evil ways and their violence. 9 Who knows? God may yet relent and with compassion turn from his fierce anger so that we will not perish.” 10 When God saw what they did and how they turned from their evil ways, he relented and did not bring on them the destruction he had threatened.”
We saw this with king Nebuchadnezzar and his son. King Nebuchadnezzar responded correctly, as did king Manasseh and God was merciful. It did take the whole time for the king to humble himself before God. Daniel 4:34 “At the end of that time, I, Nebuchadnezzar, raised my eyes toward heaven, and my sanity was restored. Then I praised the Most High; I honored and glorified him who lives forever. His dominion is an eternal dominion; his kingdom endures from generation to generation. 35 All the peoples of the earth are regarded as nothing. He does as he pleases with the powers of heaven and the peoples of the earth. No one can hold back his hand or say to him: “What have you done?” 36 At the same time that my sanity was restored, my honor and splendor were returned to me for the glory of my kingdom. My advisers and nobles sought me out, and I was restored to my throne and became even greater than before. 37 Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and glorify the King of heaven, because everything he does is right and all his ways are just. And those who walk in pride he is able to humble.”
Then we see God’s wrath with king Nebuchadnezzar’s son. He too needed Daniel’s help because, Daniel 5:5 “Suddenly the fingers of a human hand appeared and wrote on the plaster of the wall, near the lampstand in the royal palace. The king watched the hand as it wrote. 6 His face turned pale and he was so frightened that his legs became weak and his knees were knocking.” And no one could tell the king what it meant, except for Daniel. Daniel 5:18 “Your Majesty, the Most High God gave your father Nebuchadnezzar sovereignty and greatness and glory and splendor. 19 Because of the high position he gave him, all the nations and peoples of every language dreaded and feared him. Those the king wanted to put to death, he put to death; those he wanted to spare, he spared; those he wanted to promote, he promoted; and those he wanted to humble, he humbled. 20 But when his heart became arrogant and hardened with pride, he was deposed from his royal throne and stripped of his glory. 21 He was driven away from people and given the mind of an animal; he lived with the wild donkeys and ate grass like the ox; and his body was drenched with the dew of heaven, until he acknowledged that the Most High God is sovereign over all kingdoms on earth and sets over them anyone he wishes. 22 “But you, Belshazzar, his son, have not humbled yourself, though you knew all this. 23 Instead, you have set yourself up against the Lord of heaven. You had the goblets from his temple brought to you, and you and your nobles, your wives and your concubines drank wine from them. You praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood and stone, which cannot see or hear or understand. But you did not honor the God who holds in his hand your life and all your ways. 24 Therefore he sent the hand that wrote the inscription. 25 “This is the inscription that was written: mene, mene, tekel, parsin 26 “Here is what these words mean: Mene: God has numbered the days of your reign and brought it to an end. 27 Tekel: You have been weighed on the scales and found wanting. 28 Peres: Your kingdom is divided and given to the Medes and Persians.”
The Whitehouse website says, “Welcome to the Golden Age.” One writer said, “When the White House uses that same language — “Welcome to the GOLDEN AGE” — it unwittingly borrows from the playbook from past and current authoritarian governments.” This article was about the political side of things, but the golden age from a spiritual perspective is deadly dangerous and has eternal consequences. Think of those few verses from above. “You did not honor the God who holds in his hand your life and all your ways.” “Those who walk in pride he is able to humble.” “Their malice may be concealed by deception, but their wickedness will be exposed in the assembly.”
Donald Trump wants everything to be golden, quite literally, but not at the benefit of the people he is supposed to serve, He is not making America great again, it never was spiritually, but trying to make himself into the person he feels he is; the greatest leader of all time. Trump’s golden statue says it all as does his desire to see his name and picture everywhere. This is how I see myself and I want you to see me the same way. If you don’t, I will come after you. It might not be a furnace, but you might get threatened, sued, arrested or cancelled. He will use the power at his fingertips and those around him will do as he asks. There have been many who have chosen to worship at the feet of Trump, as they want to benefit from him, but they forget that Trump has a bus he will throw people under in the blink of an eye.
From a spiritual perspective, the worship of this man is sickening. When you see the likes of false teachers who surround Donald Trump like Paula White, Franklin Graham, Robert Jeffries, Greg Laurie, Mark Burns and the list goes on and on, you should be concerned as to why God placed Donald Trump in power. Mark Burns “claims the US president has been 'chosen by God' to free Iran and help his allies, yet Trump was prepared to go nuclear and wipe out their whole civilization. He even said they would be living in hell. That included the people he was supposedly saving and the Christians who are in Iran. Donald Trump recently portrayed himself as Jesus Christ and was surprised at the backlash. He actually believed what false teachers have been telling him, but he went too far, to his own surprise, so he had to lie and say he was a doctor and most believed him. Franklin Graham said, “that critics are just trying to make him look bad.” Each of these people who bow at the feet of Trump also have people who follow them and many are being led astray. There are millions of people who have been deceived and deluded not only by Trump, but these false teachers who surround him and daily give him praise.
We are told Hebrews 10:30 “For we know him who said, “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” and again, “The Lord will judge his people.” 31 It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” Yet none of these people fear the wrath of God. First of all, Donald Trump should fear God because God holds his life in His hands. Recently he read 2 Chronicles 7, but did not lead the country to repent. They were just meaningless words to him but he is still accountable for reading them to the world. The amazing part as we think about king Nebuchadnezzar is that even someone like Donald Trump can repent and turn from his wicked ways. But that involves humbling himself and so far, we have not seen that. The other option is what happened to Nebuchadnezzar’s son. Daniel said Daniel 5:22 “But you, Belshazzar, his son, have not humbled yourself, though you knew all this. But you did not honor the God who holds in his hand your life and all your ways.” Arrogance is honoring yourself above all others, including God. Donald Trump believes he is all powerful and the United States is the most powerful country in the world, but that can change in a heartbeat. As Daniel said, Daniel 2:21 “He (God) changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others.”
We saw this with Assyria and Babylon. Isaiah 37:21 “This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: Because you have prayed to me concerning Sennacherib king of Assyria, 22 this is the word the Lord has spoken against him: “Virgin Daughter Zion despises and mocks you. Daughter Jerusalem tosses her head as you flee. 23 Who is it you have ridiculed and blasphemed? Against whom have you raised your voice and lifted your eyes in pride? Against the Holy One of Israel! 24 By your messengers you have ridiculed the Lord. 36 Then the angel of the Lord went out and put to death a hundred and eighty-five thousand in the Assyrian camp.” Jeremiah 50:35 “A sword against the Babylonians!” declares the Lord— “against those who live in Babylon and against her officials and wise men! 36 A sword against her false prophets! They will become fools. A sword against her warriors! They will be filled with terror. 37 A sword against her horses and chariots and all the foreigners in her ranks! They will become weaklings. A sword against her treasures! They will be plundered.”
The writing is already on the wall, but Daniel is nowhere to be seen. Those who are supposedly spiritual advisors and those around Trump who say they are Christians, continually bow at his feet. They fear his retribution and the fear of losing their positions of power. Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah were in positions of power, but they would not deny their God. Daniel 3:8 “At this time some astrologers came forward and denounced the Jews. 9 They said to King Nebuchadnezzar, “May the king live forever! 10 Your Majesty has issued a decree that everyone who hears the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe and all kinds of music must fall down and worship the image of gold, 11 and that whoever does not fall down and worship will be thrown into a blazing furnace. 12 But there are some Jews whom you have set over the affairs of the province of Babylon—Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego—who pay no attention to you, Your Majesty. They neither serve your gods nor worship the image of gold you have set up.” 13 Furious with rage, Nebuchadnezzar summoned Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. So these men were brought before the king, 14 and Nebuchadnezzar said to them, “Is it true, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, that you do not serve my gods or worship the image of gold I have set up? 15 Now when you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe and all kinds of music, if you are ready to fall down and worship the image I made, very good. But if you do not worship it, you will be thrown immediately into a blazing furnace. Then what god will be able to rescue you from my hand?” 16 Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to him, “King Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. 17 If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand. 18 But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.” Daniel 6:7 “The royal administrators, prefects, satraps, advisers and governors have all agreed that the king should issue an edict and enforce the decree that anyone who prays to any god or human being during the next thirty days, except to you, Your Majesty, shall be thrown into the lions’ den. 8 Now, Your Majesty, issue the decree and put it in writing so that it cannot be altered—in accordance with the law of the Medes and Persians, which cannot be repealed.” 9 So King Darius put the decree in writing. 10 Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before. 11 Then these men went as a group and found Daniel praying and asking God for help. 12 So they went to the king and spoke to him about his royal decree: “Did you not publish a decree that during the next thirty days anyone who prays to any god or human being except to you, Your Majesty, would be thrown into the lions’ den? 16 So the king gave the order, and they brought Daniel and threw him into the lions’ den. The king said to Daniel, “May your God, whom you serve continually, rescue you!”
Today many who call themselves Christians continue to bow at Donald Trump’s feet. Trump continues to praise himself and continues glorifying his own name and those around him continue to praise him. His cabinet meetings are as one described them, cringeworthy. You also saw this at the Easter luncheon with so-called Christians. Even though Easter is about Jesus, it turned into a praise fest for Donald Trump, which was also disgusting to watch. This was even more cringeworthy because these were Christians who sat and applauded Trump’s nonsense. Every day you think is this going to get worse and everyday it does. This American experiment doesn’t seem to have any safeguards. They didn’t even have anything in place to stop the destruction of the Whitehouse. They seem to be able to change the word war to conflict and then do as they please. Sadly, it appears not to be any safeguards to prevent these false teachers and leaders who call themselves Christians, but there is. Unlike the failed political experiment, safeguards were put in place, but they were ignored and now the church is paying the price. The price paid is almost near total destruction cause by the abomination that causes desolation. Jesus said Matthew 24:22 “If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive.” As we read above, Hebrews 10:30 “For we know him who said, “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” and again, “The Lord will judge his people.” 31 It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” God will step in as we have seen throughout scripture.
But no one is worried about that. The safeguards, the many warnings, that have been ignored, will result in the wrath of God, of which will have eternal consequences. Matthew 7:21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!” Jeremiah 23:1 “Woe to the shepherds who are destroying and scattering the sheep of my pasture!” declares the Lord. 2 Therefore this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says to the shepherds who tend my people: “Because you have scattered my flock and driven them away and have not bestowed care on them, I will bestow punishment on you for the evil you have done,” declares the Lord. 11 “Both prophet and priest are godless; even in my temple I find their wickedness,” declares the Lord. 12 “Therefore their path will become slippery; they will be banished to darkness and there they will fall. I will bring disaster on them in the year they are punished,” declares the Lord.” Ezekiel 13:8 “Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: Because of your false words and lying visions, I am against you, declares the Sovereign Lord. 9 My hand will be against the prophets who see false visions and utter lying divinations. They will not belong to the council of my people or be listed in the records of Israel, nor will they enter the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the Sovereign Lord. 13 “‘Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: In my wrath I will unleash a violent wind, and in my anger hailstones and torrents of rain will fall with destructive fury. 14 I will tear down the wall you have covered with whitewash and will level it to the ground so that its foundation will be laid bare. When it falls, you will be destroyed in it; and you will know that I am the Lord. 15 So I will pour out my wrath against the wall and against those who covered it with whitewash. I will say to you, “The wall is gone and so are those who whitewashed it, 16 those prophets of Israel who prophesied to Jerusalem and saw visions of peace for her when there was no peace, declares the Sovereign Lord.”’
We were told to test the spirits for a reason and not to be deceived. 1 John 4:1 “Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.” Just because someone said, Donald Trump was anointed by God to make America great again does not mean that is true. Just because it appeared that Trump was saved from assignation does not mean that Trump is being used for good. So many Christians have turned a blind eye to the evil that surrounds Donald Trump and the disruption he has caused to the world. They have also bought into the good versus evil fight, the evil being democrats. Yes, the Democrats are just as bad as the Republicans, but that is not the war we are fighting as Ephesians 6:12 “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” This is a war that is the same wherever you live. 1 John 3:8 “The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.” The church was to continue in destroying that work not joining in with the devil’s work. I think what more Christians should be thinking about and be very concerned is why has God allowed these evil forces into the highest positions of power under the guise of Christianity?
