Hide and seek always started with the shout; ready or not here I come. Some were ready and well hidden, others went scurrying and still others stood in plain view surprised that the call was given. The answer would always be; hey I wasn’t ready or you did not give me enough time. During this Advent season our theme at The Rock is “Get Ready The King is Coming”. We need to be ready because the trumpet will sound, 1 Corinthians 15 “in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.” 1 Thessalonians 4:16 “For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.” We need to take this subject of readiness very seriously as it involves eternal life. Jesus makes it very clear that this is not a game but truth about living forever with Him or away from Him in hell. Matthew 25 and Luke 12 make this very clear. We need be ready for that shout; ready or not here I come. There will be no excuses. You are either ready or you are not. There are no do overs!
