The question is where have all the gatekeepers gone. Nehemiah was told, “The wall of Jerusalem is broken down, and its gates have been burned with fire.” Because of our disobedience this applies to us today. Yes Jesus said, Matthew 16:1 “And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it but that meant if we were His church and obeyed his commandments. This is not how it was supposed to be. This next verse was said about Nineveh. Nahum 3:13 “Look at your troops— they are all weaklings. The gates of your land are wide open to your enemies; fire has consumed the bars of your gates.” The enemy has invaded the land and like Hezekiah did with the envoys from Babylon he let them in and “showed all that was in his storehouses—the silver, the gold, the spices and the fine olive oil—his armory and everything found among his treasures. There was nothing in his palace or in all his kingdom that Hezekiah did not show them. 15 The prophet asked, “What did they see in your palace?” “They saw everything in my palace,” Hezekiah said. “There is nothing among my treasures that I did not show them.” 16 Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah, “Hear the word of the Lord: 17The time will surely come when everything in your palace, and all that your predecessors have stored up until this day, will be carried off to Babylon. Nothing will be left, says the Lord.” We have let the enemy through the gates and we have been left in desolation. Instead of fortifying the city we have let the enemy pour in to the church. Instead of standing on God’s word, the bastion of truth, the church have fortified their own words and have built a castles in the sand. We need once again the gatekeepers of truth.        The word bastion means: 1. “A projecting part of a fortification built at an angle to the line of a wall, so as to allow defensive fire in several directions.” 2. “An institution, place, or person strongly defending or upholding particular principles, attitudes, or activities.” It could also be defined as 3. Something that keeps or defends a belief or a way of life that is disappearing or threatened.” Though there is but a remnant of truth we know that as we prepare to cross the Jordon into the Promised Land, there are many bastions that stand before us. These are heavily fortified and constantly under guard. The bastion of truth has been replaced with bastions of learning, beliefs, doctrines, theology, deception, apathy and ignorance. These strongholds of the enemy have us in captivity because we let them in. The problem today is that most do not know what they defend with their lives is wrong. Our mental, physical and spiritual health has been ransacked and we have been taken captive. The word of God from Old to New has warned us over and over again that this would happen and because of our unbelief, God has turned his face from shining on us. Because this has happened the enemy has overpowered us and we stand desolate. A state of delusion is also upon the church because of unbelief. 2 Thessalonians 2:9 “The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie, 10 and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie 12 and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.” Our way is the wicked way. As it stands there are millions who have turned from the truth. They have made their stand in their fortresses and fire from their bastions and refuse to be moved. They absolutely refuse to repent. Jeremiah 5:3 “Lord, do not your eyes look for truth? You struck them, but they felt no pain; you crushed them, but they refused correction. They made their faces harder than stone and refused to repent.” Revelation 16:9 “They were seared by the intense heat and they cursed the name of God, who had control over these plagues, but they refused to repent and glorify him.”
As I ponder crossing the Jordon I cannot help but think about what we will face. Jeremiah 7:28 “Therefore say to them, ‘This is the nation that has not obeyed the Lord its God or responded to correction. Truth has perished; it has vanished from their lips.” I often think how will truth return. I do not ponder this in fear but realize we will be at war as the word bastion implies. As we stand on the shore of the Jordon we know we will be going up against the impossible. We have already seen the resistance to God’s word. You may think as I have often thought; what would it take to change the hearts of the people? Can you imagine a denomination of your choosing turning from their wicked ways? The answer is it is possible but only in the power of the Holy Spirit will these bastions be brought down and truth prevail. Joshua was told, Joshua 1:2 “Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give to them—to the Israelites. 3 I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses. 5 No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Joshua 17:18 “though the Canaanites have chariots fitted with iron and though they are strong, you can drive them out.” So there is our answer. Everywhere we set our feet will be ours and none will stand against us.
So we have before us bastions of man’s power but with us is the arm of the Lord. 2 Chronicles 32:7 “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged because of the king of Assyria and the vast army with him, for there is a greater power with us than with him. 8 With him is only the arm of flesh, but with us is the Lord our God to help us and to fight our battles.” As I was pondering this week about crossing the Jordon into the Promised Land, I thought about Jericho and its walls. I also thought about the land of giants.  The spies were sent out and they gave this report. Numbers 13:28 the people who live there are powerful, and the cities are fortified and very large. We even saw descendants of Anak there. “We can’t attack those people; they are stronger than we are.” 32 And they spread among the Israelites a bad report about the land they had explored. They said, “The land we explored devours those living in it. All the people we saw there are of great size. 33 We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.” As they were about to cross the Jordon Moses said, Deuteronomy 9:1 “Hear, Israel: You are now about to cross the Jordan to go in and dispossess nations greater and stronger than you, with large cities that have walls up to the sky. 2 The people are strong and tall—Anakites! You know about them and have heard it said: “Who can stand up against the Anakites?” 3 But be assured today that the Lord your God is the one who goes across ahead of you like a devouring fire. He will destroy them; he will subdue them before you. And you will drive them out and annihilate them quickly, as the Lord has promised you.” Deuteronomy 34:9 “Now Joshua son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom because Moses had laid his hands on him. So the Israelites listened to him and did what the Lord had commanded Moses.”
You may be thinking who is the enemy. In our case the enemy are those who have turned from the truth and they have left the way. The enemy has infiltrated the church. 2 Thessalonians 2:4 “He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.” There is great deception in the church as men and woman have turned from the truth so we need great wisdom and discernment. Proverbs 2:12 “Wisdom will save you from the ways of wicked men, from men whose words are perverse, 13 who have left the straight paths to walk in dark ways, 14 who delight in doing wrong and rejoice in the perverseness of evil, 15 whose paths are crooked and who are devious in their ways. 2 Peter 2:15 “They have left the straight way and wandered off to follow the way of Balaam son of Bezer, who loved the wages of wickedness.” There will be those who oppose the truth and will fight against it. Acts 19:1 “While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul took the road through the interior and arrived at Ephesus. There he found some disciples 2 and asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” They answered, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.” 3 So Paul asked, “Then what baptism did you receive?” “John’s baptism,” they replied. 4 Paul said, “John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus.” 5 On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied. 7 There were about twelve men in all. 8 Paul entered the synagogue and spoke boldly there for three months, arguing persuasively about the kingdom of God. 9 But some of them became obstinate; they refused to believe and publicly maligned the Way. So Paul left them. He took the disciples with him and had discussions daily in the lecture hall of Tyrannus. 10 This went on for two years, so that all the Jews and Greeks who lived in the province of Asia heard the word of the Lord. 11 God did extraordinary miracles through Paul, 12 so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick, and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them.” This was normal ministry as Jesus commissioned his disciples to go into all the world in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Just in case you have not realized it yet, you are in a war for your very soul. The opponents are more powerful than we are, the walls are massive, they stand in their bastions and show their power and nothing they think will prevail against them. satan is going to whisper in your ear and say this is all useless. First he will tell you God will not do as he said and secondly like the Israelites he will make you afraid and get you to doubt God’s power. The promise is to take the land and no one will stand against you. Everything will be according to God’s plan so we do not need to fear. Even when people think they are standing against you, it is God’s purpose that will prevail no matter what happens.  Matthew 26:53 “Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels? 54 But how then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen in this way?”  John 19:10 “Do you refuse to speak to me?” Pilate said. “Don’t you realize I have power either to free you or to crucify you?” 11 Jesus answered, “You would have no power over me if it were not given to you from above. Therefore the one who handed me over to you is guilty of a greater sin.”
When the enemy comes at you and mocks you and tried to get you to turn from the path God has given you, you must stand strong. Now to be clear in this case I am talking about others who call themselves Christians. Yes they will fight you every step of the way just like they mocked Hezekiah. They said Isaiah 36:18 “Do not let Hezekiah mislead you when he says, ‘The Lord will deliver us.’ Have the gods of any nations ever delivered their lands from the hand of the king of Assyria? Have they rescued Samaria from my hand? 20 Who of all the gods of these countries have been able to save their lands from me? How then can the Lord deliver Jerusalem from my hand?” But this is what Isaiah said, Isaiah 37:22 “Virgin Daughter Zion despises and mocks you. Daughter Jerusalem tosses her head as you flee. 23 Who is it you have ridiculed and blasphemed? Against whom have you raised your voice and lifted your eyes in pride? Against the Holy One of Israel! 24 By your messengers you have ridiculed the Lord.” Other so-called christians will mock and ridicule because they refuse to seek the truth.
People who call themselves Christians in the church today are so entrenched in the ways of man and doctrines of demons that they will mock the truth and refuse to hear it. It will be as if we are going up against the Canaanites. For generations there has been false teaching that has perpetuated down through ages so now these teachings have permeated the church. These teachings have formulated into other gospels. One of the most evil, hence a doctrine of demons is the doctrine of ceasationism. There are those who are proponents of this and those who have no idea that they also unknowingly have submitted to this teaching. The teachers are strong and powerful and have a huge following. Today I am focusing on this doctrine but we could almost take any denomination and see how false teaching and man’s ideas have shaped it as opposed to the Holy Spirit leading. This doctrine of ceasationism is particularly strong with a large following. You may think what difference does it make but if you do not know if your beliefs are sound then you will be deceived so your eternal life depends on it.
One of the Johns I left out last week was John MacArthur. Here is just one example of the gospel being brought into disrepute by just one false teacher. He is the pastor of a huge church called Grace Community Church and president of The Masters University (a non-denominational school unless you read what they believe.) He is also the president of The Master’s Seminary and featured teacher on Grace to You - Unleashing God’s Truth, One Verse at a Time. One person said, “Why do so many people listen to MacArthur, this product of all the wrong schools? How can he pack out a church on Sunday morning in an age in which church attendance has seriously lagged. Here is a preacher who has nothing in the way of a winning personality, good looks, or charm. What he does seem to have is a witness to true authority. He recognizes in Scripture the Word of God, and when he preaches, it is Scripture that one hears. It is not that the word of John MacArthur are so interesting as it is that the Word of God is of surpassing interest. That is why one listens.” That is the viewpoint of one faithful follower. He is also a hardcore Calvinist and an avid opponent of anything charismatic, which then means he has to be a uncompromising ceasationist because anything remotely charismatic would make him wrong. By the way he is wrong as the bible tells us so.
In this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xN0CliV5A18 here he shows us exactly why he is a false prophet. By the way the bible tells us in Ephesians 4:11 “So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” No where does the bible say what John MacArthur just said on this video. The Apostle Paul would not say of him 1 Thessalonians 1:4 “For we know, brothers and sisters loved by God, that he has chosen you, 5 because our gospel came to you not simply with words but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and deep conviction. You know how we lived among you for your sake. 6 You became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you welcomed the message in the midst of severe suffering with the joy given by the Holy Spirit.” You see he only believes that power was available only to the early church. On April 30, 2017 John MacArthur preached a sermon called “No Other Gospel” https://www.gty.org/library/sermons-library/48-4 In this sermon he preached from Galatians 1 where Paul says “I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel.” He then has to defend the doctrine of election and eternal security because the verses he read is problematic for his belief system. He also spends some time on another John who I left out last week, 23 of them that were the pope of the Catholic Church where he states they are a false gospel. Why do people buy into a false gospel? Because of the appearance of the people who propagate it. They look religious, they sound religious, they act religious. Maybe they’re nice people, maybe they’re kind people, maybe they’re very devoted people, maybe they’re very philanthropic people, maybe they’re very outwardly affectionate people. Paul says, “I don’t care what they are. I don’t care if it’s one of us or an angel from heaven; the person is irrelevant. Anyone who perverts the gospel is damned: anyone.” This is from a man propagating a false gospel.
He also speaks out against the charismatic and wrote a book called Strange Fire -The Danger of Offending the Holy Spirit with Counterfeit Worship. In a conference he said, “When people ask me, “What’s the biggest problem in the church?”  I always say the same thing:  The absence of discernment.  That is the biggest problem in the church because if you can’t discern the truth with the Word of God in your hand, with the Bible in your hand, if you can’t discern the truth, you can die of 1,000 heresies.”  We also know there are people caught up in the movement who are deceived and may not know they are deceived. Is there anything more serious than this?  There can’t be.  By contrast, reformed theology, sound doctrine, is not a haven for false teachers.  It’s not where false teachers reside.  Reformed theology, sound doctrine, faithful, biblical exposition among the long line of godly men is not a place for false teachers.  It’s not where frauds go.  It’s not where greedy deceivers end up.  It’s not where you find liars and those who misrepresent the truth.  You’re not going to go to an association of reformed churches - those who believe the doctrines of the reformation that take us back to the doctrines of the New Testament - and find false miracles, false visions, false prophecies, false anointings, bizarre mindless pandemonium breaking out.  You’re not going to find people shaking, and babbling, and rolling over, and falling down, and saying bizarre things about the Holy Spirit.  That’s not going to happen in that environment because they’re anchored to the truth.  Once experience, and emotion, and intuition becomes the definition of what is true, then all hell breaks loose.” Unfortunately for MacArthur he is right on part of the excesses of the charismatic movement but he has thrown out the truth with the false because he has to because it goes against his ceasationist beliefs. Sadly you will not find miracles visions prophecies there either.
Remember the enemy is so arrogant they will always tell the lie if you will listen. So we see a man speaking about himself while those who follow him are all led astray because they do not know they need to repent. The video we watched should literally disgust you. Ceasationism is deadly. Instead of repenting and asking God to turn his face to shine on us so that 1 Corinthians 12 happens again “7 Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. 8 To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, 10 to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. 11 All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines. 27 Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. 28 And God has placed in the church first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, of helping, of guidance, and of different kinds of tongues.” Obviously what John MacArthur and others like him are preaching is no the body of Christ. We have been taught to just go forward and live by another gospel, 2 Timothy 3:5 “having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.” We have been warned but is anyone listening?
Now I would say in every denominations journey they have turned from the truth in one form or the other. The church growth movement has infected most denominations. We could have the same discussion with the Catholics, the Pentecostals, the Methodists, the Brethren and the Reformed. There will always be those of depraved minds. 2 Timothy 3:8 “Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these teachers oppose the truth. They are men of depraved minds, who, as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected. 9 But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men, their folly will be clear to everyone.” If you simply read the word of God and listen you will see the folly of those like John MacArthur. So what I wanted to show was how from John Calvin, I did not go back any further) 1509 – 1564); John Nelson Darby (1800 –1882); “Darby's teachings became increasingly popular and became more popular still after his death when C.I. Scofield published Darby's ideas in the annotated Scofield Reference Bible in 1909.” Then you have modern day John MacArthur perepetuating these false teachings with power and authority to the masses. So you can see how these false teachings perpetuate through history. The Apostle Paul yes would be astonished at what is being taught but yet these false teachers teach as though they are teaching truth. They are leading millions to their deaths even if they say they are eternally secure. Paul goes on to say in Galatians 1:8 “But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse! 9 As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse!” Jude 17 “But, dear friends, remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ foretold. 18 They said to you, “In the last times there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly desires.” 19 These are the people who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit.” Do you really think someone who denies the power of the Holy Spirit has the Holy Spirit in them. 2 Peter 2:17 “These people are springs without water and mists driven by a storm. Blackest darkness is reserved for them. 18 For they mouth empty, boastful words and, by appealing to the lustful desires of the flesh, they entice people who are just escaping from those who live in error. 19 They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves of depravity—for “people are slaves to whatever has mastered them.” 20 If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and are overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning. 21 It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them.”
So yes you may think Revival seems impossible. I have often thought how in the world will some of these change, how will people save themselves from this corrupt generation. The answer is repentance but the other answer is they won’t. Jesus taught the parable 24 Jesus told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. 25 But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away. 26 When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared. 27 “The owner’s servants came to him and said, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the weeds come from?’
28 “‘An enemy did this,’ he replied. “The servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’ 29 “‘No,’ he answered, ‘because while you are pulling the weeds, you may uproot the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.’” 21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’
We had better get this right, as the way is narrow and the gate small. There is only one bastion of truth. So many refuse to test the spirits. So few are willing to search for truth. Everyone has gone their own way but there is only one way, one truth and one life. Luke 13:4 “Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. 25 Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, ‘Sir, open the door for us.’ “But he will answer, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’ 26 “Then you will say, ‘We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.’ 27 “But he will reply, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from. Away from me, all you evildoers!’ 28 “There will be weeping there, and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves thrown out. 29 People will come from east and west and north and south, and will take their places at the feast in the kingdom of God. 30 Indeed there are those who are last who will be first, and first who will be last.” Matthew 7:13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. 15 “Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16 By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.” These false teachers are strong and they are everywhere. They are well fortified and will fight against you with everything they have. From their bastions of learning and puplits of false preaching, they defend their ways to the death but in the end they will die. They will not stand against the truth. Truth will prevail. This will even affect individual who believe what they do and don’t even know why. It was what they were taught and they will hold on to it and will not be moved but even that bastion of ignorance will fall.
The bottom line is we do not need to be afraid. God will lead us to take the land inb truth and will go ahead of us. Deuteronomy 7:17 “You may say to yourselves, “These nations are stronger than we are. How can we drive them out?” 18 But do not be afraid of them; remember well what the Lord your God did to Pharaoh and to all Egypt. 19 You saw with your own eyes the great trials, the signs and wonders, the mighty hand and outstretched arm, with which the Lord your God brought you out. The Lord your God will do the same to all the peoples you now fear. 20 Moreover, the Lord your God will send the hornet among them until even the survivors who hide from you have perished. 21 Do not be terrified by them, for the Lord your God, who is among you, is a great and awesome God. 22 The Lord your God will drive out those nations before you, little by little. You will not be allowed to eliminate them all at once, or the wild animals will multiply around you. 23 But the Lord your God will deliver them over to you, throwing them into great confusion until they are destroyed. 24 He will give their kings into your hand, and you will wipe out their names from under heaven. No one will be able to stand up against you; you will destroy them. 25 The images of their gods you are to burn in the fire. Do not covet the silver and gold on them, and do not take it for yourselves, or you will be ensnared by it, for it is detestable to the Lord your God. 26 Do not bring a detestable thing into your house or you, like it, will be set apart for destruction. Regard it as vile and utterly detest it, for it is set apart for destruction.” We must obey.
Joshua was told do not be afraid. The war we are in is spiritual. It is also a war that no one really wants to admit to. We should be more worried about what is going in the church than outside it. Our focus needs to be back on the author of our faith. He will tear down and lift up. We serve at the pleasure of the King and do as we are commanded. If we this land is our land then we better be ready for a fight. We are going up against a mountain of ignorance, stubbornness and apathy. Colossians 2:6 “So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, 7 rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. 8 See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ.” When you think about teachers like John MacArthur and all the others you think how are we going to advance the true gospel, as many have been taken captive. How can we take down the bastions of learning and theology and doctrines that are false? The answer is easy we don’t have to as God will, we just have to be faithful and the truth will rise again. Isaiah 30:18 “Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him!” We are fighting for truth and we had better be on the side of truth and worship in it. 2 Corinthians 10:1 “By the humility and gentleness of Christ, I appeal to you—I, Paul, who am “timid” when face to face with you, but “bold” toward you when away! 2 I beg you that when I come I may not have to be as bold as I expect to be toward some people who think that we live by the standards of this world. 3 For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 6 And we will be ready to punish every act of disobedience, once your obedience is complete.” Acts 2:36 “Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.” 37 When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” 38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.” 40 With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.” 41 Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.”
We are talking about the same Holy Spirit as the early church. Ephesians 1:19 his incomparably great power for us who believe” is available no matter what the gurus of falseness say today. The word of God stands strong. Listen to no other but God’s word.
