Day 5 - "BE"

Not only is there a charge to keep from David to Solomon but a charge from Moses to Joshua. Deuteronomy 31:3 states, “The Lord your God himself will cross over ahead of you. He will destroy these nations before you, and you will take possession of their land. Joshua also will cross over ahead of you, as the Lord said. 4 And the Lord will do to them what he did to Sihon and Og, the kings of the Amorites, whom he destroyed along with their land. 5 The Lord will deliver them to you, and you must do to them all that I have commanded you. 6 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” 7 Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the presence of all Israel, “Be strong and courageous, for you must go with this people into the land that the Lord swore to their ancestors to give them, and you must divide it among them as their inheritance. 8 The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

So here we are on the banks of the Jordon ready to cross into the Promised Land. Remember we have available to us the Promised Land that in our time is the Kingdom of God under the anointing of the power of the Holy Spirit. This is the same Spirit that Joshua had when they took the land. Deuteronomy 34:9 “And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands on him. So the people of Israel obeyed him and did as the Lord had commanded Moses.” If that sounds familiar Paul did the same thing. Acts 19:6 “And when Paul had laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began speaking in tongues and prophesying.”  The good news is that the same power with Joshua and Paul is also available to all those who believe present day as Mark 16:17 states, “And these signs will accompany those who believe. 20 Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.” So we stand with Joshua ready to take the land. It does not matter if Jericho is standing in our way, as long as we are obedient we will take the land. Be strong, be courageous and trust in the Lord with all your heart soul and mind. There is also a charge from God to Joshua. Joshua 1:1 “the Lord said to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ aide: 2 “Moses my servant is dead. Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give to them—to the Israelites. 3 I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses. 4 Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon, and from the great river, the Euphrates—all the Hittite country—to the Mediterranean Sea in the west. 5 No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you. 6 Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them. 7 “Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. 8 Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

When God gives the command to go nothing will stand in our way. God does not send us on mission without empowering us. Strongholds will be torn down and the enemy defeated. 2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” 2 Corinthians 10:4 “The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strong-holds.” Our wrestling is not against flesh and blood but Ephesians 6:12 (ASV) “but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” The charge is to carefully obey all that is written and meditate on the word day and night, not turning to the left or right. We have been commanded to be strong and courageous. No enemy will be able to stand against us if we keep this charge to obey the whole counsel of the word of God. This land is our land!
