A Radical Journey to the Cross: Day 31: Stop SearchingMarch 15, 2013
So many people across the world are searching for something to satisfy their souls. Whether it is money, love, sports, jobs or pleasure and even addictions of all sorts, they desperately want to fill this vacuum in their soul that seems empty. Blaise Pascal said, “There is a God shaped vacuum in the heart of every man which cannot be filled by any created thing, but only by God, the Creator, made known through Jesus.” In reality they are searching for God but refuse to acknowledge this fact. I saw a headline today that said, “God’ particle find keeps scientists searching for a higher theory”. If they could just find that theory of everything they would be satisfied and content but they refuse to accept God as the theory of everything. Can you imagine the one day where the scientist has that moment when the light comes on and he meets Jesus for the first time? He hangs his head, punches out and does not return as the search is over. He has wasted years looking for something that was right in front of him the whole time. Then with a repentant heart he is filled with joy because he knows he has just met the one no theory can ever describe. He then begins His journey to know God more because Deuteronomy 4 says, “But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.” He knows he has finally found what he is looking for. So many people live their lives in emptiness, searching for all the wrong things. From the scientist looking for the higher theory to satisfy his craving, to the addict looking for that higher power to satisfy his, God is the answer to your hunger –STOP SEARCHING!
