The Song of Moses is a powerful description of God, the Rock whose ways are perfect and just. It is also describes a people who are not living as His children. Sadly this could be an account of the modern church- a warped and crooked generation. The people grew fat and abandoned the God who made them. This basically means in our context we have become comfortably numb and are not following the Lord the way we should. Because we have deserted the Rock who made us, the Lord said He would hide His face from us because we are a perverse generation, children who are unfaithful. The Lord then brings upon the people calamities and scatters them. They are a nation without sense; there is no discernment in them. 29 If only they were wise and would understand this and discern what their end will be! Unfortunately many will come only when their strength is gone. Then God will say, “Now where are their gods, the rocks they took refuge in. God then makes it very clear, 39 “See now that I myself am He!    There is no god besides me. I put to death and I bring to life, I have wounded and I will heal, and no one can deliver out of my hand. 40 I lift my hand to heaven and declare: As surely as I live forever, 41 when I sharpen my flashing sword and my hand grasps it in judgment, I will take vengeance on my adversaries and repay those who hate me. 42 I will make my arrows drunk with blood, while my sword devours flesh: the blood of the slain and the captives, the heads of the enemy leaders.”
It is very important that we understand this song, which is not complicated. Moses says, “Take to heart all the words I have solemnly declared to you this day, so that you may command your children to obey carefully all the words of this law. 47 They are not just idle words for you—they are your life. By them you will live long in the land you are crossing the Jordan to possess.”  As we wait on God to bring revival we need to understand that we as church have turned away from the Rock and turned to other rocks that are not God at all.  If we want to live long in the land we must return to God as His people and stop rejecting Him.  We need this blessing once again. Numbers 6:24 “The Lord bless you and keep you; 25 the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; 26 the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace. ”
