“World renowned physicist Stephen Hawking has died at the age of 76.” Some say he was the greatest mind of our time. As in all deaths he will be sorely missed by his family, friends and colleagues and people who did not even know him but the saddest part of this is his dying with the belief that there is no God. Stephen Hawking was a self-proclaimed atheist. “When Hawking said that God didn't exist and added the sentence, "I am an atheist,” to his statement, the world took notice.” “Hawking made this controversial statement in 2014 during an interview with Pablo Jauregui, a journalist from El Mundo, a Spanish language newspaper. “Before we understand science, it is natural to believe that God created the universe. But now science offers a more convincing explanation. What I meant by ‘we would know the mind of God’ is, we would know everything that God would know, if there were a God, which there isn’t. I’m an atheist.” Isn’t it interesting that to get his point across he has to compare it to God? “We are each free to believe what we want, and it’s my view that the simplest explanation is; there is no God. No one created our universe, and no one directs our fate. Professor Hawking has long been a critic of ideas of the afterlife or an all-powerful god. He said it was natural to believe in the divine before we understand science – but that science had now provided a better explanation.”
From these quotes you get the picture but sadly Mr. Hawking was only able to see from his mind’s perspective and didn’t not have the mind of God nor should he even compare his mind to God’s. Paul said, 1 Corinthians 2:6 “We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. 7 No, we declare God’s wisdom, a mystery that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. 8 None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 9 However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived”— the things God has prepared for those who love him— 10 these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. 11 For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 12 What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us. 13 This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words. 14 The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit. 15 The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments, 16 for, “Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.”
This means that although Hawking was an intellectual giant, he actually knew very little and has led many down a dark path. “Stephen Hawking believed that there is a "grand design" to the universe, but that it has nothing to do with God. With continual breakthroughs, science is coming closer to "The Theory of Everything," and when it does, Hawking believes all of us will be able to understand and benefit from this grand design.”
“A theory of everything (ToE), final theory, ultimate theory, or master theory is a hypothetical single, all-encompassing, coherent theoretical framework of physics that fully explains and links together all physical aspects of the universe.” “Hawking spent the majority of his time as a scientist focused on a set of equations known as the “theory of everything,” which he described as “the ultimate triumph of human reason—for then we should know the mind of God.” “But for all of his talk of God, Hawking regarded the deity as only a metaphor; he rejected the notion of an afterlife, per the Guardian interview. Instead, he said that people should live for the now and “seek the greatest value of our action.” Oddly Stephen Hawking died on National Pi Day (3.14), March 14, 2018. This seems significant as one will not believe in God the infinite but will believe in an infinite number.
Hawking like many others want to find the Theory of Everything but at the same time they refuse to believe in God. I could have saved them a lot of chalk on a blackboard by giving them the answer to the Theory of Everything – GOD! God is the theory of everything. This refusal to believe in God makes the smartest person a fool. It also makes fools of those who listen to them. First of all they do not fear God. Matthew 10:28 “be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.” Romans 3:18 “There is no fear of God before their eyes.” Second the bible makes it abundantly clear that fools do not believe in God. Psalm 14:1 “The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good.” Romans 1:21 “For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools.” Psalm 10:4 “In his pride the wicked man does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God.” Luke 12:20 “But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’ 21 “This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God.” 1 Corinthians 1:18 “For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.” 20 Where is the wise person? Where is the teacher of the law? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 21 For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. 22 Jews demand signs and Greeks look for wisdom, 23 but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, 24 but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.”
My question now is how will Stephen Hawking’s science help him now. Yes you can say there is no God and yes you can come up with your own ideas, making yourself out to be god but that still doesn’t mean you are correct. Now I would say Hawking is in one of the black holes he figured wasn’t black. He now has to hear from the God he said didn’t exist. The one he refused to believe in is now going to be judging him. His condemnation has been sealed. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.” He is going to hear Matthew 25:41 “Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”
This rejection of God has influenced many people who call themselves Christians. They have listened to the likes of Hawking who put doubt in their minds because they are more enthralled with the Big Bang Theory than they are with church. Christians are not even sure if the bible, the word of God is true. In the beginning God…., that is our belief. You can’t be a Christian if you don’t get that. Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. 2 This is what the ancients were commended for. 3 By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.” In the end Stephen Hawking had a miraculous life, living longer than predicted, but one of the smartest men of this era, died a fool. Sadly I looked to see if he had made a statement of repentance before he died but I did not see one. I hope I missed it. The God he rejected is an amazing God and he looks for repentance. He spent his time denying his saviour, the one who came so that he might have life in abundance. That abundance was not just for this present time on earth but for eternity. Sadly he chose and has influenced many to turn away from the truth of God’s word. Stephen Hawking now will realize the error of his ways but it is too late.     The Lord God Almighty reigns whether we believe it or not. Choose this day life and prosperity or death and destruction. Choosing after you die is too late!" I leave you with this last quote from Stephen Hawking. “I regard the brain as a computer which will stop working when its components fail," he said. "There is no heaven or afterlife for broken down computers; that is a fairy story for people afraid of the dark."
